Where The Wild Things Are Tribute

It was with a remorseful heart that I woke up this morning to find out that Maurice Sendak, author of “Where the Wild Things Are,” died at the ripe age of 83. Not only did he bless me with one of the most captivating children’s stories of all time, his storytelling was also able to reel in my 2-year-old boy (the older one passed up on the scary images that accompanied the book). I guess the younger one is just as wildly mischievous as Max.

The story was short, simple and imaginative.

And, dare I say (contrary to popular opinion), I also loved the live action adaptation that Spike Jonze was able to dream up.

Interesting enough, we celebrated our youngest’s 2 year birthday this past weekend and the theme of his party was…you guessed it…”Where the Wild Things Are.” So, in memory of Maurice Sendak, here are a few pics of our little one’s Wild Rumpus.

  1. How funny! We were at my friend’s son’s 2 year old birthday party with the same exact theme! I posted the article of his death on her FB wall! Happy Birthday to CY!
