The Dollar Menu

With four days left in our church wide (New Life Center) fast, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve been looking forward to breaking it with a carnivorous celebration. Don’t get me wrong, God’s been awesome these past few weeks and He’s helped to navigate my salivation episodes toward a more creative avenue.

I’m just saying…I miss chomping on my favorite cuts of meat and tantalizing grounded chucks.

In lieu of my usual choice of dishes, I’ve had to find creative ways to decorate my plate with culinary beauties. I must say, life’s been interesting this past season. Just yesterday, I had brown rice, sauteed veggies, and seared walnuts. Yummo!!! I visited the Magic Castle last weekend and had an amazing eggplant pasta. And, when a quick fix is needed, the dollar menus at the variety of fast food chains have provided a surprising range of non-meat selections.

Del Taco has $0.49 bean and cheese burritos. El Pollo Loco has their, sometimes, coveted BRC’s. And, when I can scrounge up some extra change, Subway has their explosion of veggies in a delightful bread packaging (ok…this one’s not under a dollar).

With that said, I’d love to hear your favorite Dollar Menu item. Whether it’s McDonald’s Apple Pies or Jack’s Tacos and whether it’s Wendy’s Frosty or Carl’s Big Hamburger, and despite the flaws of these fast food eateries, they do offer some tasty choices.

What are your?

Let’s talk.
